Picked up a tip on washing machine drain pumps that blew my mind
Was reading a tech forum last week and someone mentioned checking the drain pump filter housing for cracks BEFORE you replace the whole pump. I've been tossing out pumps left and right when they made noise. Pulled a Samsung today, found a dime wedged in the impeller and a hairline crack in the housing. Saved the customer $120 by just swapping the housing and clearing the debris. Has anyone else found hidden causes like that on top-loader drain issues?

Find that dime every time and check the rubber seal around the impeller for tiny tears that let water bypass pressure. Took me three dead pumps to realize a worn seal acts just like a cracked housing but costs almost nothing to replace. Simple dime blocked up the whole system, but a tiny seal tear let it flow just enough to fool my ears.

Nah, a cracked housing is usually way more obvious than a seal tear.
