Just realized I've been throwing away about $40 a month on those 'universal' washer hoses that always seem to blow within a year.
Switched to the reinforced stainless steel braided ones after the third flood in my garage and haven't had a single issue in over two years, so what brands do you guys actually trust for long-term installs?

My plumber swears by the braided kind too.

Braided might hold up better under pressure, but I've had the opposite experience with them. Replaced a braided hose last year after it started fraying at the connection point where it rubbed against the cabinet frame. The rubber kind is cheaper and honestly lasted me twice as long in my old house. Plumbers usually recommend what they know from their own jobs, but that doesn't mean it's the best for every setup. I'll take a basic rubber hose that's easy to replace over something that feels tougher but fails in a weird spot.
