I was at a restaurant supply auction in Tacoma and saw a 20-year-old commercial dishwasher still running like new.
Honestly, it made me wonder what brand of pump and heating element they used back then, because the new ones I see fail in under 5 years.

Right? The new ones are total junk. My building's dishwasher is from the 90s and it's a tank, but the one at my last job died every other year.

It's wild how that's true for so much stuff now. My buddy's old fridge from the 80s still runs perfect, but his new TV crapped out after three years. They just don't build things to last anymore, it's all cheap plastic and planned obsolescence. Feels like you're always replacing something.
