I finally learned why those Samsung fridge compressors keep failing after one job in Akron

Last Tuesday I went to swap a compressor on a 2022 Samsung French door in Akron and found the inverter board had a bad solder joint from the factory. It was pulling way too much current and burning out the compressor in under two years. Has anyone else seen this specific issue on newer Samsung models?

Have you actually pulled the inverter board and looked at it with a magnifying glass, or are you just going off what someone told you? I've been doing these Samsung swaps for a few years now, and I'd say the bad solder joint thing is more of a coincidence than a pattern. The real problem, from what I've seen anyway, is the compressor itself being a different model than what Samsung says fits, or the tech not purging the system right and leaving moisture in there. Those inverter boards are usually pretty solid in my experience, so I'd be careful about blaming that first without checking the actual compressor specs.
