Had to pick between replacing a dryer belt on site or taking it back to the shop

I chose to do it on the customer's back porch last Tuesday, but the tension spring snapped halfway through and I had to run to the supply house anyway. Has anyone else tried the on-site route and regretted it?

Why wouldn't you just take it back to the shop and save the headache?

What about people who bought things online and the shop is a return address but not some place you can actually walk into? I bought a fancy blender off Instagram once and when it stopped working after like a month the company had a return address in some industrial park across town but no actual storefront you could go to. Plus sometimes you lose the receipt or the packaging gets thrown out and then the shop will just look at you like you're crazy.

Wait, you just walk into a shop with some random blender you bought off Instagram and expect them to take it back? That's wild. Not every place you buy from has a physical location where you can just show up and yell at someone. Half the stuff I buy online comes from some warehouse in a state I've never even visited, and the return address is just a P.O. box. Try walking into a P.O. box with a broken blender and see how far that gets you. Plus half the time the company doesn't even exist by the time you need a refund.

Can you really blame someone for trying though when half these Instagram shops ghost you after taking your money lol
