Had to pick between replacing a capacitor or the whole control board on a busted dryer yesterday
Got a call in Phoenix for a dryer that wouldn't start. Customer was watching me and I had to decide right there if I trusted the $12 capacitor or if I should swap the $200 board. I gambled on the capacitor and it fired right up. Anyone else ever had that kind of pressure with a customer watching your every move?

Had to decide right there if I trusted the $12 capacitor" - honestly I see it the other way lol. You're the pro, they're watching cause they're curious or nervous, not cause they're gonna second guess you. If you know your stuff and the capacitor was the right call, that's just good work. No need to overthink the pressure.

Yeah, that's fair @abbyg14, I used to overthink the pressure too but you just made me realize the customer's probably more nervous than judgmental.
