Finally got through a full year without a single call back on a fridge compressor swap
I started keeping track after a bad run of three in a row, and just hit 12 months clean. It's not a big deal to most, but it means my vacuum and brazing steps are finally solid. Anyone else find that one repair that just clicked for them after a while?

Bet I'd weigh mine too, but my cheap scale is probably off by 5 pounds so I'd end up chasing ghosts like my vacuum gauge. @julia_miller24 your system sounds way smarter than my luck-based approach.

My old boss used to say a clean vacuum pull is like good coffee, you just know when you've got it right. I started weighing my recovery tank before and after every job, just a cheap luggage scale. Seeing that number barely move after a pull told me more than any gauge ever did. It turned a feeling into a fact, and that's when my callbacks stopped.
