Finally found a way to unstick those seized Maytag drum bolts without killing my back
Been fighting a Maytag washer in Columbus with a drum bolt rusted solid, tried penetrating oil and heat for two days straight. Then I remembered an old timer's trick: clamp a set of vice grips on the bolt head and give them one sharp hit with a 3 lb sledge, not a big swing but a quick tap. Broke it free in like 5 minutes, saved me $80 on a new drum assembly. Anyone else got weird hand tools or methods that beat the standard breaker bars?

Wait, you just smacked it once with a hammer and it came loose after you fought it for two days? That's wild, I would've thought you'd crack the housing or something. Guess sometimes the old-school tap is all it takes, lol.
