Watched the 'One Piece' remake and the original back to back

The new version's pacing is so much better, they cut out like 20 episodes of filler from the East Blue saga. It actually got my friend to stick with the show. Anyone else find a remake that finally fixed the original's biggest problem?

Honestly I was the same way, always thought the filler was part of the charm. But you're right, the new cut just flows so much better.

Oh man, you know what that reminds me of... I was trimming back this massive overgrown hedge for a client last spring. They'd let it go for years, thought all that wild growth was just part of the character. I told them, look, sometimes you gotta be brutal to get the good shape back. Sure enough, once I cut it all back and shaped it proper, they couldn't believe how much better the whole yard looked. It's like that with books and movies too, I guess. Sometimes we get used to the clutter and don't realize how nice clean lines can be until someone takes the shears to it.
