Watched my cousin turn from a dub-only guy into a sub purist in exactly 3 months
Back in March my cousin Marcus swore he would never read a show, said subtitles made him miss the animation and he'd rather wait 2 years for a dub. Then he started Attack on Titan with subs because the dub wasn't out yet for the final part, and by June he was pausing mid-episode to yell about how the Japanese voice for Eren puts way more into the screaming scenes. Last weekend he flat out refused to watch a new show with me because the dub came out first and he said it sounded wrong. I have never seen someone flip that fast, and now he acts like he was a sub guy the whole time. Did anyone else have a friend who crossed over like this, or is it just Marcus being Marcus?

Marcus went from dub loyalist to subtitle snob in 90 days and now he's rewriting history like he invented the sub life. Pretty sure every dub fan is just one good sub binge away from this exact villain arc.
