Used to binge-watch subbed episodes in one sitting, now I take breaks between arcs
I used to marathon entire seasons of Attack on Titan in one night, but after burning out halfway through Season 3 in 2022, I realized I was missing all the character details. A friend told me to watch one arc per week like a TV series, and it totally changed how I follow the plot. Now I actually remember names like Mikasa and Eren without looking them up. Anyone else find slower pacing helps them enjoy the story more?

Bro for real though, slowing down changed everything for me with One Piece. I used to try and blast through like 50 episodes a weekend and then I'd forget why Luffy even wanted to go to a specific island or who some side character was. Now I treat each saga like its own season and take a couple days to let it sink in before moving on. I actually caught myself feeling emotional during the Water 7 arc because I had time to get attached to the crew instead of just speedrunning the plot. Plus taking breaks means I can look up lore videos or read the wiki about the world building without feeling like I'm cheating myself.

Actually the biggest benefit for me is skipping the opening and ending themes on purpose. Most people skip them to save time but if you watch an arc slowly, those songs start hitting different. By the time I got to the end of Attack on Titan Season 2, hearing that first opening again made me tear up because I had weeks of memories attached to it. Slower pacing also lets me catch foreshadowing that would fly by in a binge, like those random background details in the council episodes. Do you find yourself noticing more small hints now that you're not rushing?
