That conversation about filler arcs got me second guessing myself
Last Tuesday my buddy Dave and I were arguing about Naruto filler episodes, and he said something like 'skipping them means you missed the whole point of the pacing.' I mean, I always thought filler was just padding, but he pointed out how some of those episodes build side characters you never see again in the manga. It hit different because he grew up watching weekly on Toonami, so his whole view of the show is tied to that slow burn experience. Now I'm wondering if my habit of checking the filler list first is actually ruining some shows for me. Has anyone else had a change of heart about skipping episodes after talking to an old school fan?
Wait, so Dave thinks watching Naruto characters eat ramen for 40 straight episodes is some kind of spiritual journey? That's like saying you gotta read the terms and conditions to really enjoy an app. Some filler slaps but most of it is just the animation team buying time while the manga catches up.
