Stumbled on a detail about Goku's Japanese voice actor that surprised me
I was reading an interview with Masako Nozawa the other day and found out she's been voicing Goku since 1986, which is like 37 years now. She was already 50 years old when Dragon Ball Z started airing, and she's still going at 87. What really got me was that she also voices all three of Goku's family members - Gohan, Goten, and even Bardock. Does anyone else find it amazing how she keeps that young energy in her voice after all these decades?

Man I remember reading that she went right back to the recording booth after breaking her wrist a few years back and just powered through it like it was nothing. The fact that she can still scream and grunt like a 20 year old fighter at her age is wild. There's this clip of her recording the Super Saiyan transformations and she's literally jumping around the booth shaking the whole room. You can tell she's still having fun with it.

Still having fun with it" is where I gotta push back a little, man. I think she's a pro doing her job, but that clip of her shaking the booth feels more like performance than genuine fun (you know, for the cameras). The woman's been doing this for thirty years, and I think the joy is probably more about the paycheck and the legacy now than actually loving the scream sessions.
