Rant: A guy at the Chicago comic shop told me subs are always better, so I rewatched Cowboy Bebop both ways
Last month I was at a shop on Clark Street and this guy behind the counter went on for 20 minutes about how no real fan watches dubs, like it was some kind of rule. So I went home and did an actual test, 26 episodes of Cowboy Bebop in English one weekend and the Japanese track the next. The English cast nailed Spike's tired jokes in a way that kept me in the story, while I kept pausing the subs to read instead of watching the animation. People treat sub over dub like a fact, but it is just a taste, and I think the dub fits that show better. What show made you switch sides on this, if any?
