Hot take: I just realized I've been watching anime wrong for like 5 years

I always skipped the opening and ending songs to get straight to the story, but my cousin in Portland said I was missing the whole vibe. She made me watch the full OP for 'Chainsaw Man' and the visuals and music actually set the mood perfectly. Do you guys always watch the intros or am I the only one who used to skip them?

My rule is watch the first and last episode intros. @the_andrew is right, skipping them is a crime. The Chainsaw Man one is a perfect example of setting the tone.
