Guy at the comic shop made me rethink my Crunchyroll hate
I always said dubbed anime was the only way to go, but this guy behind me at the register argued subs keep the original voice acting emotion intact. We talked for 10 minutes about how the Japanese VA for Lelouch carries the whole show in Code Geass. Makes me want to give subs another shot honestly.

Jumped into subs a few years ago and never looked back. The emotion in the original Japanese voices is just different. For Code Geass specifically, you're right Lelouch's VA carries so much weight in those big speeches. Subbing keeps the acting choices the director wanted. Dubs are fine for background noise but you miss the real soul of the performance.

Three years of subs and you still need to act like it's some kind of deep philosophy? It's just cartoons, my guy.

Subbing keeps the acting choices" sure but dubs have their own talented VAs who bring something real to the table too.
