Blew $45 on a box set of a show I already watched on streaming

I bought the Blu-ray collection of an anime I loved for $45 thinking I'd rewatch it all. Turns out I never actually want to commit to sitting through 26 episodes again and it's just collecting dust. Has anyone else wasted money on physical copies of shows they already finished?

I just started selling my old box sets on eBay. Makes it feel less like a waste, more like a rental fee.

Heard a podcast recently where someone called this the "library model" of buying physical media and it stuck with me. @fisher.adam you're basically paying a small fee to enjoy the stuff for a while before passing it on. Definitely takes the sting out of those impulse purchases from a few years ago.

Stood up so fast I nearly knocked my drink over. $45 for a show you already watched? Man that stings way more than I thought it would. I don't think I could bring myself to spend that much on something I already finished.
