Appreciation post for finally ditching the 1.5x speed on anime
Has anyone else had that moment where you catch yourself binge-watching wrong and it changes how you watch everything?

Had a buddy who swore by 1.8x speed for everything (anime, movies, even youtube tutorials). One day he watched a Ghibli film like that and literally missed the entire emotional climax because he was already on his phone by the time the music swelled. He switched to normal speed after that, weirdly enough because of a slice-of-life show about people making pottery. Said it forced him to actually watch the hands move, which is a sentence I never thought I'd hear a grown man say.
