Why do family members always ask for free woodworking labor?
My uncle asked me to build him a full set of kitchen cabinets for free. He said since I enjoy it, it should be no big deal. I had to explain that materials cost money and my time has value. It's annoying when relatives don't respect the craft.

When relatives use the "since you enjoy it" excuse, I explain that material costs are real and my time isn't free. Sticking to that saves future headaches.
