Small win with my telescope's star tracking
My scope kept losing stars after a few minutes. Really annoying for watching planets. I read some old forum posts for help. One guy said to check the motor gears. Mine had a bit of dust in them. Cleaned it out with a soft brush. Now it tracks smoothly all night. Feels great to fix it myself.

Cleaning those gears probably made all the difference for smooth tracking.

But was it really broken that bad? Sometimes these things just have a weird moment and then work fine. Might have tracked okay even without the cleaning.
