I never questioned ghostwriting gigs until a client's request for a deceptive review made me pause.

I used to accept any writing work for extra cash, but that ethical line in the sand completely changed how I vet side hustle opportunities now!

Five years ago, I ghostwrote a review for a diet pill that somehow made me crave pizza.

Deceptive requests are a red flag, but not all ghostwriting is like that. Maybe it's just me, but I've done anonymous work that was perfectly ethical.

Man, that's a tough spot to be in. What specific red flags did you start looking for after that incident? Like, do you now outright ask clients about the purpose of the content before accepting the gig? I'd be curious how you balance needing the income with turning down questionable work.

How do you prioritize ethics over paycheck in those moments?
