Quarterly review shock: my casual dining habit equals a car payment

I sat down with my receipts and realized that those unplanned restaurant visits were costing me hundreds monthly. It's prompting a shift towards more intentional grocery purchases and home meal assembly. How do you balance convenience with cost when it comes to feeding yourself?

Wow! What's your BIGGEST temptation to dine out?

Hey lindab49, for me it's walking past any place with that fresh-baked bread smell wafting out.

Honestly that bread smell thing is real, but for me the bigger issue isn't the temptation. Tbh it's being tired after work with nothing ready at home. That's when I cave. Ngl, I had to learn to keep stupid-easy stuff stocked, like frozen stuff that just goes in the oven. The convenience price tag only hurts when you have zero other options.
