My downstairs guy complains every time I jump rope.

Making some noise is just part of staying fit at home.

Have you thought about how loud that must be right under you... maybe just go for a run or something less shake-the-ceiling?

Ugh, you're so right @quinnowens. My downstairs neighbor tried jump rope once and it felt like the ceiling was coming down... and we have concrete floors! It was horrible.

My last apartment in Brooklyn had a neighbor who practiced drumming after 10 PM. The whole building would vibrate like a cheap phone on a wooden table. I tried to drown it out with my own jump rope routine, but I just ended up annoying my downstairs neighbor instead. Now I stick to silent exercises like glaring at the ceiling.
