My excavator's track came off in the middle of a muddy site

We were working after a rainstorm and the mud was deeper than I thought. The track slipped off and it took hours to get it back on. How do you guys deal with super wet conditions to avoid this?

Keep your track tension a bit looser in the slop, helps it shed mud. We throw down a bunch of those old lumber mats to drive on if we gotta work wet ground.

Old lumber mats always remind me of working on my uncle's farm. Those things get slick as ice once the wood gets real old and polished.
