My watch freezing at 3:17 AM turned me from a doubter to a believer

I always brushed off strange coincidences. Seeing it happen on the day my dog died and when I got bad news was just TOO much.

Look, a watch freezing is just a broken watch. Bad stuff happens all the time, so it lines up with a sad day now and then. You're just connecting dots after the fact because it feels big. Our brains are wired to find meaning, even when it's just a random glitch.

I used to dismiss odd timing as nothing. My own clock freezing during a loss shifted that for me. Now I see it differently.
