I mean, maybe it's just me but putting a flat sandstone rock under my laptop stopped my neck from hurting so much.

How do you angle it though? I've done the same thing with a couple old textbooks before, it gets the screen up to a way better height. Honestly just propping the back up an inch or two makes all the difference.
