Rant: My in-laws' slow decision-making is killing our vacation plans
Every time we try to plan a family trip, my husband's parents want to debate every detail for weeks. They say it's careful planning, but I call it dragging feet. We almost missed booking flights last year because they couldn't decide on dates. I think being quick to choose shows we value our time together, not that we're rash. They keep saying 'good things come to those who wait,' but prices just go up. Last summer, we ended up with a worse hotel because they took too long. It feels like their generation sees haste as a bad thing, but mine knows waiting costs money and fun. We need to find a middle ground before another year goes by with no real vacation.

Have you tried giving them a firm booking deadline? We told my folks we're locking in flights on Friday, price hike or not, and it finally forced a choice. Honestly, keeping a cheaper backup option you can book alone also saves the stress.

Is a vacation really worth that much pressure?
