TIL my younger cousin uses slang I had to look up online

I was hanging out with my younger cousin last week, and he kept dropping words like 'based' and 'no cap'. I had no idea what he was saying, so I sneaked a peek at my phone to search the terms. When I was his age, we used phrases like 'on fleek' or 'YOLO' that made sense to us. It's wild how each generation has its own secret language from the internet. Gen Z picks up slang from TikTok and Discord, while we Millennials got ours from old memes and early YouTube. This made me feel a bit out of touch, but also curious about the shift. I think it shows how fast culture moves now with new apps. Trying to keep up with his talk is like decoding a new code every time we meet.

Yeah, that happens to me too. My younger clients sometimes say things I don't get. Makes me feel ancient, but then I remember we had our own weird words.
