Just read that 70% of Gen Z uses TikTok for search instead of Google
I saw this stat on a marketing blog yesterday and it blew my mind. I'm a millennial and I still just type everything into Google, maybe check the first couple links. The article said Gen Z will search for a restaurant or how to fix something right on TikTok for video results. It makes sense, but I never thought it was that many people. I mean, I use it for funny clips, not to find real info. Does anyone else still default to a search engine, or am I just showing my age here?

Try searching for a simple recipe on TikTok and you'll see the appeal fast. I needed to fix my wobbly ceiling fan last week and found a 60 second video that showed the exact screw I needed to tighten. Google would have given me a long article with ads. I still use Google for serious stuff, but for quick how to things, the video results just save time.

My last Google search for a leaky faucet led me down a 45 minute rabbit hole about pipe metallurgy. I definitely needed that. Sometimes a video just showing the dang wrench is all my brain can handle.

But what about when you need to know why that screw was loose in the first place? A quick video often skips the deeper fix.
