I finally figured out the perfect way to keep my hose from kinking after it ruined my new petunias last spring.

My neighbor in Phoenix suggested I coil the hose in a figure-eight pattern on a simple $15 hose reel instead of a circle, and now I never have to stop mid-water to untangle a knot.

Figure-eight is the only way to go. My hose used to be a total mess before I tried that.

Mine kept kinking too until I stopped coiling it on the ground. I hang it on one of those wall hooks in a loose loop, maybe three feet across. Lets it sit without any tight bends. The figure-eight never worked for me either, it always seemed to find a twist. This hanging method has been way better for my cheap vinyl hose.
