Why bother with tape measures for anything but rough work? The laser gives you exact numbers fast, no stretching or guessing. It turns a chore into a quick step.

Right? Why did I ever mess with a tape measure for small stuff? I used mine to map out picture frames on a long wall last week, and then double-checked some weird trim angles. It saved me so much back-and-forth guessing.

Isn't it funny how we stick with the old way of doing things long after a better tool comes along? @the_oscar's story about the picture frames is a perfect example. We get used to the hassle of a tape measure and just accept the extra steps. I see this everywhere now, from people printing maps instead of using their phone to manually typing in numbers one by one. It's like we have to be shown the easier path before we finally let go of the old chore.
