Unpopular opinion: that 'quick dry' lacquer from the big box store ruined my entire Friday

I sprayed a set of six maple dining chairs with it, and after 3 hours in a 70-degree shop, it was still tacky enough to pick up every speck of dust. Ended up stripping all of them back to bare wood on Saturday. What's your go-to fast cure clear coat for a production day?

That "quick dry" label is such a trap. I've learned the hard way that it usually just means dry to the touch, not cured enough for real work. For a true production day, I skip the big box stuff entirely and go with a professional spray lacquer from a real supplier. The difference in dry time and finish is night and day. It costs more but saves so much time and rework.

Ugh, I ruined a whole project learning that lesson the hard way.

Oh man, preach. That "dry to the touch" lie has cost me hours. You're totally right, the pro stuff is a different world. It feels like a scam until you finally try the good spray and realize how much time you wasted.
