Spent $80 on a digital moisture meter and it saved a big project

I picked up a client's oak table that had been stored in a garage. It felt fine, but before I started stripping it, I checked with the new meter. The reading was over 18% in the legs, way too high to finish. I would have sealed all that moisture in and had a huge problem later. Now I let everything sit in the shop for a week with a meter check before I even sand. Has anyone else found a good way to dry out thicker pieces faster?

Overkill until you ruin a table, then it's just smart.

Just sounds like overkill to me.

It saved my sanity when my own project got messy last year.
