Read a study showing 40% of freelance income gets lost to unpaid invoices

Found it in a report from the Freelancers Union last week. How do you all chase down late payments without burning a bridge?

Ngl that's a scary stat. What do you actually do when a client ghosts you after sending a few reminders?

Yeah @park.abby is right about the upfront talk, that usually helps. I mean at that point I just send one last email saying the work stays mine until they pay. Most times that gets them to respond.

Honestly that number is terrifying but it tracks. What kind of payment terms are you guys even putting in your contracts up front? I feel like a lot of people skip that hard talk and just hope for the best.
