I sent 50 emails to small tech firms in Boise, and one reply turned into a full site rebuild. What's the most you've ever gotten from a cold pitch?

My old agency sent over 2000 cold emails last year. The open rates were decent, but we only got three real replies and zero closed deals. All our actual clients came from word of mouth or people finding our portfolio online. It just felt like shouting into a void after a while, you know? The time spent writing and tracking all those emails could have gone into making our actual work better.
