Question about preventing miscommunication with clients

I mean, idk, but I started summarizing every discussion in an email right after. It's saved me from so many 'I thought you said' moments, and I'm way less stressed about project timelines now.

Verbal's fine until someone forgets the details, then it's a mess. A quick email covers your butt later.

Totally! I prefer quick verbal confirmations instead.

Hold up, Jamie! Verbal confirmations are great until someone's memory gets creative. I've had clients reinterpret conversations days later, and without a paper trail, it's my word against theirs. In my experience, that email summary is like a time capsule for accountability. Your mileage may vary, but the stress reduction from having everything documented is unreal. It also forces me to clarify my own understanding right after the talk. So yeah, I'll stick with my digital paper trail over hopeful recall any day.
