I was talking to a plumber at a coffee shop in Denver about his invoicing system
He showed me his phone and said, 'I send the invoice right from the truck before I even leave the job, and I get paid in 48 hours.' I'd been waiting two weeks for clients to pay my design invoices. I started using a free app called Wave that same day to send invoices right after a call. My average payment time dropped from 14 days to just 3. Has anyone else found a trick that sped up getting paid?

It's like we all got trained to wait. Maybe it's just me but I see it everywhere now. My dentist texts a payment link before I leave the chair. The food truck guy has a tablet with a tip screen that pops up right after you tap your card. Sending the bill while the service is fresh in their mind just works. It turns paying from a chore into part of the transaction.

Honestly, that's the whole game right there. Getting the invoice out the door before the good feeling from the finished job fades. Tbh, I used to batch mine on Fridays and it killed my cash flow. Sending it instantly makes it the client's next thing to do, not your old thing to chase. It's a tiny change that makes a huge difference.
