Hit $5000 in a single month for the first time and it's not what I expected

I thought that number would feel like total freedom, but honestly it just showed me how much I'm still hustling to cover basic stuff like health insurance and taxes. It forced me to finally build a real budget instead of just winging it every month. How do you guys handle the mental shift when a 'big' milestone just highlights the grind?

Congrats on the new high score unlocking the next level of adulting. Tbh every raise just moves the goalposts for what counts as broke. At least now your budget has better graphics.

Remember when my friend got a raise and his rent went up too?
