Freelancing from Costa Rica was paradise until I missed a deadline
I moved to Costa Rica for three months to design websites. The beach views were incredible and I felt more creative. But when my internet dropped during a big project, I lost a client. Now I'm back in the US with reliable connections, but I dream of the ocean. Do you think the risk is worth the reward?

I mean, losing one client feels huge, but it's not like your career is over. The real issue is trying to do a job that needs steady internet from a place that doesn't have it. Maybe just take really long vacations instead.

Yeah, been there with the sketchy internet. What saved me was just using my phone as a backup hotspot all the time. It's not perfect but it catches the drops before a client even notices. Long vacations sound nice, but the bills don't stop coming.

Honestly that internet drop is the worst feeling. Been through it myself and now I always have two separate providers before I even book a place. The risk can be worth it if you plan for everything to fail, but is that still a paradise? Maybe try a shorter trip first to test your backup systems.
