Our main sand mixer motor seized up yesterday afternoon, total nightmare.

Had to bypass it with a portable unit while we waited for the replacement part to ship from Cleveland. Anyone know a good trick for preventing that kind of sudden bearing failure?

My buddy's shop had that same "sudden bearing failure" thing happen last year.

Man, sounds like his shop got the same "it'll hold" special. @the_john would probably say at least your buddy's bearing didn't try to redecorate the floor with oil.

Oh, the classic "it was fine yesterday" surprise. Did you at least get a dramatic smoke show before it quit, or did it just give up with a sad little groan?
