Ditched fan cooling for my bronze work and saw a big drop in scrap

Honestly, I was blowing air on all my bronze casts to speed up cooling. Tbh, after I quit and let them cool on their own, I had way less waste. Ngl, what cooling methods work best for you guys?

Heard some old-timers swear by burying pieces in sand.

Burying pieces in sand? What kind of magic are we expecting here? It sounds like something from a pirate movie, not real life. Do people really think stuff gets better by hiding it in the ground? I've tried similar things before, and all I got was a rusty mess. Maybe those old-timers had too much time on their hands, or they just liked digging holes.

Yeah I used to totally laugh at the sand thing too, seemed like folk magic. But after @rowan798 mentioned it, I tried it on some smaller pieces as a test. Left them buried overnight and the cooling was so even, my scrap rate got cut in half. Changed my whole setup in my backyard.
