Back when 'organic' was a farmer's promise, not a loophole-filled label

Today it's more about marketing than actual farming practices.

Remember when organic meant something you could trust. I mean, I bought some organic berries last week that came in more plastic than my kid's toy box. Feels like the word itself got farmed to death.

What would a real, no-loophole organic label even look like today?

In my experience, the whole organic label debate gets blown out of proportion. Your mileage may vary, but most people are just paying for peace of mind, not actual purity. Take this with a grain of salt, but I've seen organic standards shift so much that a no-loophole label might be impossible. Even if we had a perfect label, would it really change how we eat or farm? Sometimes it feels like we're chasing an ideal that doesn't exist in the real world.
