Update: I was at the new botanical garden in Springfield and saw they're using silk flowers in their main display.
It just feels wrong for a place that's supposed to celebrate real plants to use fakes, and it made me wonder if any of you have seen this trend at other public gardens.

That's a whole new level of lazy gardening. Might as well put up posters of trees and call it a forest. What's next, plastic bees for pollination? Saves on water, I guess, but totally misses the point.

Plastic bees? That's actually a thing people do? I can't believe someone would go that far to avoid real nature. It just feels so wrong to fake a whole ecosystem.
