I'm team paper towels for cleaning flower stems
Everyone in my shop swears by those microfiber cloths but they just spread the debris around. I switched back to paper towels last spring after 3 straight bouts of stem rot and my bucket water stays way cleaner now. Anyone else hate how hard it is to get the slime off microfiber?

Paper towels are just easier for that job honestly. Found they grab the slime off stems way better without leaving gunk behind in the fibers. Microfiber always felt like it was just smearing the problem around no matter how much I rinsed it.

Haha, yeah my roomie said the same thing after destroying a whole roll on one plant.

My buddy Frank up in Portland tried that microfiber thing one time. He said he spent a whole Sunday cleaning just two grow tents and the rags were completely shot after one use. They just held onto all the sticky residue and never felt clean no matter how many times he ran them through the wash. He finally gave up and just started using the blue shop towels from the auto parts store, says they work perfect and you can toss them without feeling guilty.
