Can we talk about that Saturday before Mother's Day?
I had a Saturday two weeks ago that nearly broke me. We did 87 orders in one day, which is double our usual. I had three new helpers who mixed up the roses with the carnations on two big arrangements. Then a bride called crying because her bouquet had the wrong shade of blush. I stayed until 11 PM fixing mistakes and restocking. Has anyone else had a holiday prep day spiral like that, or was this just a bad year for me?

Pre-ordering all flowers by Tuesday and having backup labels printed saved my sanity before big holidays.

Big holiday flower orders are that serious to you? I guess if you're running a whole shop it makes sense, but for most people it's just grabbing a bouquet from the grocery store.

Labels are the real unsung heroes of any business, that's for sure. I helped a friend with a pop-up bakery one time and we thought we had everything covered until we realized the labels for the cake boxes were printed on the wrong kind of paper. They just peeled right off after a few minutes in the cold case. Total nightmare. We ended up rewriting everything by hand with a sharpie and it looked like a kindergarten art project. So yeah, having those backup labels ready is pretty much a lifesaver. Does anyone else have a story about a simple thing that totally fell apart during a rush?
