Anyone have a good trick for keeping roses from drooping after 2 days?
I keep getting orders where the roses look fine on day one but by day two they're all bent-neck. I've tried the penny in the vase trick and even the hot water dip but neither seems to work for me. The florist I used to work with in Portland swore by a specific hydrating solution but I forgot the name. What do you guys use that actually works for more than 48 hours?

Gotta agree with @tessa_clark74 on the pH part, tap water alone is usually too alkaline.

...and honestly the penny thing is a myth, that copper thing never did anything for me either. The trick that actually works is cutting the stems underwater and putting them straight into a solution with a citric acid based flower food and a drop of bleach. I mix my own now, 1 teaspoon sugar, 1 teaspoon white vinegar, and a few drops of bleach per quart of warm water. The vinegar drops the pH and the bleach keeps bacteria from clogging the stems. If they're already droopy I recut them underwater and float them in warm water for an hour before putting them back in the solution. Works way better than any store bought packet I've tried.

Wait, so the store packets are basically just sugar and vinegar with some bleach? That makes SO much sense why my grandmothers flowers always lasted forever and she never used anything fancy. I feel like I've been getting scammed by the florist for YEARS.
