A man at the farmers market changed how I price my work

I was selling bouquets in Seattle last month and a guy asked me why my simple daisy bunch cost the same as the mixed roses. I told him it took the same time to make. He looked at me and said, 'But I'm not paying for your time, I'm paying for the feeling.' It stuck with me all week. How do you figure out what to charge for a simple arrangement versus a complex one?

Same thing happens with roof estimates - people pay for peace of mind, not just shingles.

That "paying for the feeling" line is so real. I mean idk, maybe it's just me but that would stick with me too. Makes you think about the whole vibe of what you're selling.

Huh, I never really thought of it that way.
