Last Thanksgiving, my cousin brought tile swatches to the table. She laid them out next to the mashed potatoes and asked for opinions on grout color. We couldn't even enjoy the pie without discussing water resistance. It's like family time turns into a free design meeting.

Man, what if she's doing that because she feels left out? Like older family members sometimes bring their projects to holidays because that's the only time anyone pays attention to their big life stuff. Maybe the tiles were just her awkward way of asking to be part of the conversation.
