That one tile job where the subfloor was a total mess
Had a job last week where the homeowner said the subfloor was 'ready to go' for 12x24 porcelain. It was not. The plywood had a 1/4 inch dip over 4 feet and a bunch of old adhesive spots. Spent a whole day just grinding and leveling with a bag of Ardex self-leveler. What should have been a two-day tile install turned into three and a half days. What's your go-to fix for a subfloor that's way out of whack?

A quarter inch dip over four feet and they said it was ready? I would have lost my mind. That's not a subfloor, that's a roller coaster.
