Pro tip: I read that most vinyl plank failures happen in the first 6 months
Found that stat in a trade magazine last week. It said it's usually from not letting the planks sit in the room long enough before you lay them down. How long do you guys usually acclimate material for a big job?

Remember reading about a guy who rushed his floor install before a big holiday party. He skipped the acclimation time to get it done fast. The planks buckled right in the middle of the room a month later, like a tiny mountain range. That stat about the first six months makes perfect sense now. It's always the shortcuts that come back to bite you.

Messed up my own first vinyl plank job six years ago and that little buckle still reminds me every time I walk past it.

Disagree with that stat tbh. Seen way more failures pop up after a year or two from bad subfloor prep, not just acclimation. @alicesingh that story is wild, but rushing the prep work is the real killer. If the floor underneath isn't flat and dry, it doesn't matter how long the planks sat in the room.
